To Love and to Loathe

"To Love and to Loathe" by Martha Waters is a sweet, adorable regency romance. Rather than the typical slow build, this book hits you with strong sexual tension from page one and then slowly introduces you to the characters through society intrigue. And while that intrigue was often laugh worthy (especially between the main couple), I did find it to occasionally drift towards tedious.

I found out after finishing this book that it is actually book 2 in its series. Not having read book 1, I did not find myself feeling I was missing anything relevant to the story itself, but the slow character build may have been due to that fact that I was already supposed to know them.
