Mr. Wrong Number

"Mr. Wrong Number" by Lynn Painter is a cute rom-com in the "You've Got Mail" sort of vein, starting with a wrong number sext.

This book was a lot of fun and is a solid romantic comedy. There's plenty of witty banter, and it kept me smiling throughout. The pacing is just a little off for me. I kept thinking I was bored or that the story was dragging, and I would put the book down only to pick up again a few minutes later because I wanted to know what was going to happen.

At 3/4 of the way through, there are still several major issues that you're waiting on the resolution of, so then the ending felt rushed. I liked the way things were dealt with, in that the explanations felt logical and fit well with the story and characters. Unfortunately, the book ended as soon as it reached the happy moment, and it felt very abrupt. I would have preferred another chapter or two to let the resolution settle and bask a bit in the happily ever after vibe.

All in all, I enjoyed reading this one, and if the "You've Got Mail" type of story is your jam, then I recommend this one.
