Dance with the Devil

"Dance with the Devil" by Kit Rocha is book 3 in the Mercenary Librarians series. 📚 I didn't love this one quite as much as the previous two, but it also centered around the couple I cared least about. It does a great job of logically progressing the sci-fi plot, but given that there is so much big picture stuff going on at this point in the story, I felt like the character exploration and development was a little lacking.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend the series! However...

It was originally billed as a trilogy, and while the authors' website does say it is "finished (for now)", I wish they had left off the last chapter. As with the previous installments in the series, the last chapter seems to exist just as a teaser for some of the drama coming in the next book, which I found upsetting in each of the books (especially since the teased drama wasn't actually very dramatic when it came to it), but it is extra frustrating here since there seemingly isn't a next book.
